Our community held a forested retreat this year at Arrow River Forest Hermitage (1-hour outside of Thunderbay) for two weeks from July 18th to August 1st, 2026. Seven members of our community were present from Saskatchewan, Quebec and Ontario, and each was assigned to stay at a cabin in the woods on the 92 acre off-grid wooded property for a deep dive into the practice. Lotus brought her two rambuntious teenage dogs: Enso and Gojo to enjoy the forest. During the retreat, the Sangha held a special memorial for our former sangha member Jeff, and family members of our current sangha member, a 10-precept ceremony and a koan study class.
